You may wonder why I talk about FASTer Way To Fat Loss all the time. Well, it has really changed my life. Yes, that might sound a little dramatic but let me explain.
When I started my blog over 2 years ago, I began researching and learning how nutrition affects our lives. I had been on a journey with my stepfather (He has Lewy Body Dementia) and I learned that the way we live and eat can have a big impact on our health. The more I read, the more I started cutting out foods in my diet. Some of these things were good to cut out like processed foods but some foods I probably didn’t need to be so afraid of.
There is a term called orthorexia. According to NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association), “the term ‘orthorexia’ was coined in 1998 and means an obsession with proper or ‘healthful’ eating. Although being aware of and concerned with the nutritional quality of the food you eat isn’t a problem in and of itself, people with orthorexia become so fixated on so-called ‘healthy eating’ that they actually damage their own well-being.”
I don’t feel like I went to the extreme but I might have if I hadn’t learned and lived the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Lifestyle. With FASTer Way, we do not eliminate any groups of food. We eat real whole foods with an emphasis on reducing processed foods. Not only do we focus on whole foods, but we also practice different nutrition and workout strategies that help us become fat burners. Food Freedom And FASTER Way to Fat Loss
The best term I can use to describe how I feel about FASTer Way is FOOD FREEDOM! There was a time when I tried the Keto Diet and I stayed away from carbs. I had this mindset that carbs were the enemy. If you feel this way you should read my post on “Carb Are Not The Enemy“. I avoided fruit and vegetables like potatoes and my favorite oatmeal.
With FASTer Way to Fat Loss, we do 2 low carb days but then we fuel our body with carbs because our bodies NEED carbs. We need carbs for our hormone functions. Long term depletion of carbs can have an effect on our thyroid and cause it to function suboptimally.
FASTer Way literally changed my life when I realized this and added back in fruit, potatoes, and my favorite oatmeal!
Mindset Shift with FASTer Way to Fat Loss
One of the most important things, I have learned with this lifestyle is a mindset shift. We focus on “Progress Over Perfection”. That doesn’t mean just about food, that means in life.
Look, none of us are perfect but for some reason, we have told ourselves if we don’t follow this “diet” perfect we are a failure. Which then can lead to beating ourselves up. Life can be tough enough. We should be focusing on the positives and let go of the negatives. We say things to ourselves that we would NEVER say to our friend. With FASTer Way, we learn to give ourselves grace just like we would a friend.
The Biggest Change In My Life
So the biggest change in my life has been the opportunity to be a certified coach for FASTer Way to Fat Loss. I get to do everything I love which is working with women (and a few men) to help them learn about food freedom and a positive mindset. As I teach them all of the strategies of FASTer Way they began to feel better about themselves because of the fat loss, increased energy, better sleep, and overall feeling their best.
I love that I can coach from anywhere! All I need is my phone and my computer and I can help someone to learn to live their best life!
