Italy So Far: A Mid-Trip Recap
We’re in Umbria now, a few days into this trip, and I wanted to do a quick mid-trip recap before we get swept up in truffle hunting and spa days.
The Highlight So Far
It’s hard to pick just one, but our day on the boat in Lake Como was wonderful. I love water and I love being out on a boat, and there is nowhere quite like Lake Como. It’s so beautiful, and the weather was perfect.
The Funny Part
Jeff did not do the best job packing for this trip. On our first day, right in the middle of fashion week in Milan, he was wearing his trophy husband t-shirt and a Great American Cookie hat. I love him for it.
What I Got Right (and Wrong) With My Packing
I brought too many clothes. The weather has been warmer than I expected, and I wish I’d packed a couple more pairs of nicer shorts. But overall, I’m happy with what I packed.
Last night I wore this skirt with this top in brown, and I loved it. It felt like the perfect outfit for Umbria. I’ll be wearing this skirt all fall.
The other thing I’m so glad I brought: my new tennis shoes. I’d just gotten them before I left and wasn’t sure if I should wear them on this trip, but they have been perfect. So comfortable.
One thing I packed and haven’t touched once: my curling iron. Chalk it up to overpacking.
On the skincare front, I’ve worn the same three things every single day: this primer, this tint and protect, and this concealer, which has been perfect for the rosacea on my nose.
Staying On Track (Sort Of)
I did get a quick workout in with my app. It’s great for traveling and just as great at home.
Taking a Break
This is a mid-trip recap, and there’s more to come when I’m back. I’ll be sharing it all on Instagram once I’m home, but it’s been nice having a break.
What’s Next
Today Jeff and I are heading to the spa, then a relaxing day by the pool. Tomorrow we’re off on a truffle hunt. I have no idea what to expect, but I’ll report back.
